Happy 6th Birthday to the Cell Site Experts
As Footprint Investigations celebrate their 6th anniversary this week, commercial director and one of the founding partners, Andy Townsend reflects on those last 6 years;
The last 6 Years has literally flown by. Starting a business in a recession was a brave move, although we knew between us that we could offer a high quality cell site analysis product to meet the needs of the ever growing industry.
Before setting up Footprint Investigations, Police Forces throughout the UK were largely outsourcing cell site analysis, while ironically, from around 2010 the Police were starting to be trained in house to produce their own cell site analysis reports and conduct their own radio frequency propagation surveys.
Starting with three partners, and after making steady progress for the first 12 months, we quickly identified the need to employ several key staff members in order to grow the business and meet the demand from defence teams responding to the significant increase in cell site analysis provided in house by the various UK Police forces.
The evolution of cell site analysis has seen it initially used for only serious crime, while the advent of using in house facilities has resulted in the use of cell site analysis for all crime, from harassment to road rage incidents as well as street robberies and domestic disputes.
Having now taken over 500 instructions, Footprint Investigations has produced cell site analysis for a significant amount of customers, including many of the top legal firms and Police Forces within the UK.
Our product has been described as “second to none” “outstanding” and “Fantastic” to name a few. Often, our staff have received praise from the customer in relation to their professionalism and efficiency when dealing with complex matters, in many cases, to almost impossible deadlines.
Our concise call schedules and cell site mapping and jargon free reports have also attracted numerous favourable comments from the judiciary, often being used instead of exhibits produced by the opposing team.
