Drugs Line Analytical Valuations
We are often instructed for Newton hearings where drugs lines are involved, and attributed to your client. We have combined our expertise in data analytics with that of an independent drugs expert.
In recent months we have identified several issues in this type of evidence, that we feel are biased or challengeable. The issues include evidence of co-location impacting on the holder of a drugs line, and calculated ‘potential’ number of sales attributed to a specific drugs line, based on algorithms.
We have successfully challenged the valuation of drugs lines at court, bringing the valuation down significantly, with an impact on sentencing.
Our experts can provide a credible assessment as to the volume of drugs potentially purchased over the relevant period.
We are instructed by defence and prosecution in such cases.
Mobile Phone Download Analysis
Defence teams are often served with a forensic download of mobile phones as part of their case. These are often in an unreadable format, due to the type of software required to view the material. Our experts can assist if you are looking to challenge this type of evidence. Our experts can assist with matters such as call pattern analysis, scheduling messages in chronological order, as well as conducting other areas of analysis. The defence teams are then supplied with the exhibits produced, as well as a copy of the download in a readable format. This keeps costs to the LAA to a minimum as the defence can then undertake further analysis themselves.
Image Presentation of CCTV And Video
Many cases rely heavily on images to ‘tell a story’ In court. Footprint Investigations have an inhouse graphic designer and ex police officer who assists police forces and defence teams wishing to present video footage and images in a jury friendly manner.
This is not an expert discipline as we do not enhance or analyse footage, we make it easy to view and understand.
This type of evidence can be used in sequence of events and can include CCTV, photographs, doorbell footage, BWV, diagrams, and the like.
