Happy 7th Birthday to The Cell Site Experts
Footprint Investigations celebrates its 7th year in business this week. We have grown to become the largest dedicated supplier of cell site analysis to both prosecution and defence.
The cell site analysis experts have seen many changes over the years to this type of complex evidence. The company was formed by Technical Director and Cell Site Analysis Expert Greg Robinson, along with Commercial Director Andy Townsend who served 30 years in the Police, many of those as a CID officer.
The company has grown over the years and the has two more cell site analysis experts to assist Greg with his workload, three cell site analysts and a cell site manager who works alongside Andy to assist criminal defence lawyers needing to instruct a cell site analysis expert. The cell site experts had to move to new premises last year in order to accommodate the growing number of staff.
Back in 2010 when Footprint Investigations was formed cell site analysis was starting to be done in house by police forces to save costs. The majority of cell site cases in Footprint Investigations initial years were conducted on behalf of the defence. We invested a lot of time in the first couple of years conducting CPD training for Chambers, Solicitors offices, Circuits, Law Societies and Crown Prosecution Service.
It would appear that cell site analysis evidence has now come ‘full circle’ as a large number of prosecution cases are now outsourced to experts. Footprint Investigations currently undertake cell site analysis work for a third of UK Police forces. Much of the work is still conducted in house, however many serious crimes are once again undertaken by Cell Site Analysis experts.
We have conducted criminal defence cases all over the UK and our experts have given evidence at many principal courts throughout the UK.
We look forward to many more years of instruction from both existing and new customers whether prosecution or defence.
