Yesterday saw the start of our autumn sessions delivering the CPD course “Cell Site Analysis Explained” to Solicitors and Barristers all over the UK.
The article “The Scales of Justice”, written by Commercial Director Andy Townsend, appears in this month’s Investigator Magazine
The importance of Cell Site Analysis cannot be underestimated. It frequently is presented as part of the prosecution case and naturally should be considered on the behalf of the defendant(s). It is more common now that the defence team initiate Cell Site Analysis even when the Crown does not rely on such evidence. Our own Cell Site experts are frequently asked what appears to be a standard set of questions during their evidence, but there is one form of questioning that has an ‘irritable inference’ which could be easily dismissed or potentially be catastrophic, regardless of whether it is a Crown of a Defence Expert report.

This is a light hearted look at an otherwise serious subject. During the course of our daily cell site analysis surveys we observe many types of cell site structures. Our dedicated senior cell site expert Greg Robinson, whilst conducting cell site analysis network surveys in the north-west of England recently observed this well disguised cell site, but can you see any signs of mobile phone cell site equipment?
Footprint Investigations gave a talk yesterday for the Investigator magazine at Rothley Court Hotel in Leicestershire.
The talk, which also included a section on mobile phone triage, was aimed at Analysts and Investigators who deal with mobile phone or cell site analysis evidence on a regular basis.
Cell Site Analysis has been historically used for serious crime investigations and their subsequent court trials. In the late 1990’s, prosecution cases were supported by the analysis of mobile telecommunication traffic data, but this was restricted at that time to the most serious of trials. Significant events such as the Omagh bombing (August 1998) included cell site analysis evidence that implicated two offenders being present at the scene of the crime as well as other terrorist activity two weeks earlier.
Footprint Investigations are proud to be the leading dedicated supplier of cell site analysis; it’s all we do, which is why we are “The Cell Site Experts”.
You can be assured that when you instruct Footprint Investigations to prepare your cell site report, then it will be created by our own team and presented by them at court. Access will always be made available directly to “your expert”.
The very popular “Cell Site Analysis Explained” CPD course was conducted at 5 Paper Buildings Chambers last week.
Footprint Investigations attended the digital forensics conference at Olympia, London yesterday to speak about Cell Site Analysis on day 2 of the Forensics Europe Expo 2013.
The morning consisted of some very interesting presentations discussing the challenges of Law Enforcement Agencies when using mobile phones and cell site analysis as evidence, and case studies were shown by Police Scotland Major Incident Team, as well as Merseyside Police Matrix Team.
The Cell Site Analysis experts from Footprint Investigations were delighted to be asked to conduct the CPD course “Cell Site Analysis Explained” recently.
The course was organised by Old Bailey Chambers and sponsored by Stephensons Solicitors, and was held at the LSE building at Lincolns’ Inn Fields.
